Jem's September Blog Hop - Christmas Is Coming

Hello & welcome to the Jem's September Blog Hop. The 1st of September saw the launch of the new Autumn/Winter catalogue which is full of so many fantastic products for your Halloween, Christmas & Autumn/Fall projects.

As soon as I saw the Star of Light bundle on page 9 of the Autumn/Winter Catalogue I knew it would be at the top of my wish list!

The background flourish looks so lovely stamped with Versamark & embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. I haven't bought the Copper Card yet but that will definitely be on my shopping list for my next order.

I absolutely love the sentiment stamps & the dies are so detailed & intricate they will add a touch of decadence to your Christmas cards.

I've only scratched the surface with the possibilities for this bundle and I know there is lots more I can do with it.

I think the largest star would look fab as a decoration on a candle . . . . . . what do you think?

Thankyou for joining us on our Hop & I hope you'll continue on to the lovely Sarah-Jane who I know will have something fab to show you.

Happy Crafting!

Jem's August Blog Hop - When is a bag not a bag?

When it's a card . . . . . .

I've made quite a few of these handbag cards since Amanda Bates at the Craft Spa put the instructions on her blog. It's so easy to make but so effective. You can find the instructions here.

This was an extra special one I made for my eldest daughters 21st birthday. She loves her handbags so I knew straight away that I'd be making one of these cards for her. I used the bag card to give her a gift of a necklace she wanted & it was the ideal size inside.

I've had a bit of a Thinlets & Framelits frenzy with this bag but if you can't throw everything at a card for such a special birthday when can you?

I've use a few of the thinlets from the Sunshine Wishes set and also the Large Numbers Framelits.

I also love the Labeler Alphabet stamp set & it was ideal for personalising the bag card.

My daughter absolutely loved her card & I really enjoyed making it.

Thanks for taking the time to join us on our Blog Hop today and I hope you are enjoying all the inspiration. Next of your journey is the lovely Julie who I know will have a fab project for you.

Happy Crafting.

Swirly Bird

Although I've had the Swirly Bird set for a few weeks I hadn't used it at a class until this month.

This set is so versatile & there are so many cards on Pinterest to give you ideas of how to use it.

This is a card I designed for the class using not only the Swirly Bird stamps & dies but also the Thoughtful Banners Stamp set & matching punch.

Always love Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive together. Great colour combo.

I'll be showing some more examples of how you can use the Swirly Bird bundle over the next few days so do please pop back.

Thanks for dropping by & Happy Crafting!

Time To Party

Here is the last of the cards from my Shaker Card Class.
This was a card I saw on Pinterest & loved the way the Hello You Thinlets were used over the front of the acetate & then the birthday wording stamped in Stazon on the acetate itself.

This time I used the Layering Squares Framelits to create the window. More action with the Sprinkles Punch & Brights Sequins (those sequins certainly go a long way & there are still loads left!!) & the card is finished.

I'll confess to using retired papers on this & the first card but it was perfect for these Shaker Cards & my ladies don't mind using retired products. Most of them bought these papers so I always like to show plenty of ways to use products they've bought.

Over the next few days I'll show you the projects we made at my July class so please do come back & visit.

Thanks for popping by today & Happy Crafting!

Shaker Card Star

The second card from my Shaker Card class is this star shaker.
Again using the Sprinkles Punch, Confetti Celebrations stamp set and Brights Sequins but this time using the Star Framelits to create the shaker shape.

I wanted to show the ladies how the shaker section can be made using any shape framelit.

Thanks for popping by today and Happy Crafting.

See through Shaker Card

My product based class for June was a Shaker Card class and included the very versatile Confetti Celebrations stamp set. Over the next few days I'll share the 3 cards we made.

The first one I'm sharing is a see through shaker card and I found the instructions here. They are super easy to follow.
Also included in the class was the Sprinkles Punch which I've used together with the Brights Sequin Assortment to create the shaker part.

New to this year's catalogue is the fab Foam Adhesive Strips which makes shaker cards super easy to make. It's slightly deeper than normal foam tape/pads to give the confetti more room to shakey shakey!

Thanks for popping by today & Happy Crafting.

Jems July Blog Hop - What Does The Fox Say?

This month the theme of our blog hop is animals & we really are spoilt for choice with the new stamp sets in the Annual Catalogue.

I decided to use the ever so cute Fox Builder Punch to make this 'Foxy Lady'.
Don't you just love her?
I've punch the pieces from a piece of Flirty Flamingo Designer Series Paper & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Card. Doesn't she look stunning!

I've also used 2 more of my favourites from the new catalogue the Labeler Alphabet, which is fab for stamping any sentiment you want & Marquee Messages which has this fab arrow which I've dressed up with loads of bling.

I don't think I could have got much more sparkle & bling on this card if I'd tried!
To make her little legs stand out I embossed them twice using White Embossing powder.

Thanks for joining us on our hop today. Next in line is the ouber talented Sarah-Jane & you can jump to her blog by clicking on the link below.

Happy Crafting!

Commissioned Wedding Card

I've used the Rose Garden die for lots of Wedding/Anniversary cards as I think it makes such a clean & elegant card.

I've used the sentiment from the matching stamp set which has so many stamps for birthday/wedding/thanks/sympathy so is a great all round set & I love the font.

Finished off with the bride & grooms names & a little embellishment from my stash.

Thanks for popping by today & Happy Crafting.

New Catalogue, New In Colors - Which Is Your Favourite?

Hello & welcome to this months Jems Blog Hop. This month were showcasing the new Stampin' Up! 2016-2018 In Colors.

Stampin' Up! In Colors are only available for two catalogue years (1st June to 31st May) and each year Stampin' Up release 5 new In Colors.

Here are this years. Don't you just love their names?!

Have you decided which is your favourite new colour yet? I love some & like others but I'm sure by the time I've hopped through the Jems Blog Hop this month I'll love them all.

Here are my projects using the new colors.

I've also used the Playful Backgrounds stamp set to create the circle background on the card. All demos who attended OnStage Local in Telford were lucky to get this stamp set in their goodie bags on arrival.

I've also used the very elegant Buttefly Thinlet die as the focal point & the Banners dies to cut two banners one in cardstock & one in vellum to overlay. The vellum banner has been embossed using the Butterfly Embossing Folder.

Can you spot a couple more new products? The sentiment banner has been made using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set & matching punch. The stamp set has an amazing 53 stamps for only £19.00 & if you buy it as a bundle with the matching punch you save 10% (£31.50 for both).

And here's a closeup of all 5 cards.

And to finish off here is a something I found on Caroline Halletts Facebook page which I though was a fun way of looking at the In Colors.

The next blog on your journey is the very talented Sarah-Jane who I know will have something lovely for you to look at.

Or if you'd like to hop back & see what the lovely Lucy has to show you then click on this link.
